Crash (2005)

Where can you see more of a wider range of actors put together like Brenden Fraser, Tony Danza, Sandra Bullock and Terrance Howard all in one movie?

Crash (2005)
My Rating: 8/10

Hmmmmmmm… I liked it. Tons of intertwining relationships – which is hard to do in a film if you ask me, but it moved due to the tons of conflict. I can’t really say there was one real story but there was a thematic through line that you were watching. In one word, “Racisim”. Or even perceived racism. Definitely ignorance could also be used to describe theme. But definitely, this movie was about characters who were treated or treated others in a specific way because of the color of their skin.

Two great scenes in particular really made an impact to me. The Matt Dillon scene with the burning car and the shooting with the little girl. I just sat there saying, ‘wow’. Those scenes built well and really played out well with great acting. After the shooting scene with the little girl I paused the movie, went to Bella, grabbed her from her bed and let her sleep next to me as I watched the rest of the movie.

Good movie if you’re in the mood for an uncomfortable social issue with high tension, tons of drama and conflict and something to make you think. I know it made me think.

This movie is on my list of all-time favorites. I never new what was going to happen next. Every squeeky clean character gets soiled, and every "bad" guy gets some form of redemption. This one is definately worth a watch. (PS: Sandra Bullock's best performance ever).
