On Dec 6, 2005, Jacob had his Christmas Program. He had a speaking part for the first time. He was sick most of the week they handed out the lines. When he got home on Friday he read the lines over and over. The following Monday they had practice and his teacher said he was the first to memorize them. I asked him a couple of times if he was nervous as the day approached. He acted as if there was no reason to be. All he wanted to do was get his hands on the mic and say his lines.
And he did it as clear and as perfect as you can possibly do it! What a ham!

That’s auntie Lana and Bella. The stage where Jacob’s Christmas Program happened is in the background.

Jake and his teacher.

Every year for the past eighteen years my sister has put together a Christmas party with all the fixins’! There was a time when at least thirty people were in the house. As the years went by people moved away, people got married, and people had kids! We always do an exchange gift (Secret Santa) and what started as a twenty dollar max eighteen years ago has now gotten to the one hundred dollar (plus or minus some bucks) range. This year I got a Timex Heart Rate Monitor watch from Chip! There’s only five people from the original party eighteen years ago. Chip (on his knees on the left), me (the guy holding Jake), Dale (the dude standing right behind me), Dasie (Dale’s wife behind me and next to Dale), and my sister (the pregnant one on the right). This is the one and only party I look forward to the ENTIRE year! She makes an awesome Turkey and pulls out all the stops! I can’t wait till next year!

Jake and Bella are very happy that Jessica is home for Christmas.

Squeezed in between my sister’s party and Christmas day is Lori’s annual Christmas party. Usually pasta shells and spinach balls are served. Lori is the tall one in green. Unfortunately, Donna had to eat and run because she had to go to work that night.
There’s more to come. We still have three days till Christmas! Whoo Hoo!!!
