On Saturday morning after I worked out we went to IHOP because I was craving steak and eggs. The reason… while on the stair-master, the televisions were on and all the commercials kept advertising different restaurants that featured prime ribs, steaks, grilling, etc. It was torture to watch. Especially while working out. Of course coming out of the gym I was craving steak. IHOP isn’t the best place for such cravings, but it met the needs of others in the family. You know, chocolate pancakes, Harvest Grain and Nut pancakes and of course mine… t-bone steak and eggs. It was not great but was very very satisfying. Especially with a side of pancakes! Yum. I just had to work out harder on Sunday morning.
After breakfast it was suddenly noon and I had to rush to my haircut. Then I had to rush back home in order to make our way down to Newport Beach for a birthday party. There was a cat in the person’s home which made the night ‘longer’ as I had to deal with allergies and asthma. But better me than Jake who seemed to get through it without a problem. We did have to call in a prescription down there to get our inhaler. This really saved my life but my allergies kicked in and we had to leave early. Having red itchy eyes and sniffling made the hour drive home even ‘longer’… but by the time we got in the house I was almost over it. I was exhausted.
On Sunday morning Donna and I got to work out together as my mom watched the kids. I proved to her that my cravings for steak was founded as she saw for herself the commercials on the TV.
When we got home we got showered, dressed and packed the kids into the car to go to another birthday party. This one in Montclair. About 45 minutes. This place was some place called John’s Incredible Pizza Company. It’s a huge place for kids parties with games and rides and all you can eat food. It was crazy fun for kids and crazy fun for some adults as well. Jake and I played video games, we bowled, we rode rides, it was a lot of fun!

By the time we got home the kids were tired, I was tired, Donna was tired so we all went down for an hour nap.
When we woke up we went to see Chicken Little. We caught the last matinee at 4:40. I was shocked that matinee prices were $8.00!!! That use to be the general admission prices. Now its matinee? Talk about gas prices… BRING DOWN THE MOVIE TICKET PRICES PLEASE!
Ever since I was a kid I liked Chicken Little. He’d show up in one short cartoon on Sunday mornings walking around telling people the sky was falling. I never saw him in any other cartoon except that one. 30 years later, he’s a star of a movie!

Chicken Little
My Rating: 8/10
I haven’t laughed this much in a movie theater in a long time. The comedy level totally outshines other really funny Disney Animated movies like Monster’s Inc. and Finding Nemo. I really, really liked this movie. The story… eh… not great and not as strong as the other Disney Movies of late (Toy Story 1 & 2, Monster’s Inc., Finding Nemo) but characters, the comedy and what seemed like non-stop action really made it work. Here’s a good example of great writing but a weak story.
The comedic timing of Zach Braff and Joan Cusack was perfect. And of course Garry Marshall was his usual funny self. I recommend this movie for the whole family.
Even Bella liked it!
Then we had In & Out for Dinner, I watched the end of the Sunday Night Football Game, watched a few shows then finally to bed to watch “Gray’s Anatomy.”
See… A LONG WEEKEND!
